A college student once described their life this way:"I was really good at swimming in the kiddie pool, but now I am sinking in the ocean".
WCCCM believes that college students are capable of standing on their own as long as they can find their footing. Many however, are overwhelmed with the stresses of being away from home for the first time, finding their classes, doing their homework, making money in a part-time job, and not neglecting their friends.
Our goal is to help these students find that foundation in Christ.
We do this by surrounding the students with a network of people that believe in them and who can help them reflect on the important things of life through a filter of God's love.
Understanding that every student has individual needs, we disciple them each in unique ways.
Our main group meets on Sunday nights. It is geared towards filtering life through the lens of Scripture. Our desire is to help students find the path God is leading them on, not forcing them down the one we think is best for them.
To aid in this mission, we have two main tools:
1. Our Extended Family is a group of individuals and organizations that stand at the ready to assist these students with problems - Spiritual, mental, and physical. We work as an extension of the family that cannot be close to them during their time away from home. We do not do things for the student, but walk with them to find solutions that build confidence as they grow into adulthood. Click here if you would like to learn more or join our team.
2. Our coaches meet with students one on one to help them reflect on life and where God is leading them. They work as coaches on a sports team - they are not there to play the game for them, but to give them the tools to play the best game they can.
